strength to strength
Over these last several years, as I have been digging deeper into strengths, I keep finding new aspects that help me know myself in a new way. For example, when I converse with someone I'm coaching, I see how each of the 34 strengths can look different within that individual's report.
So, if you take that person's top 5 and read what Gallup has written specifically for them, you would see some similarities. Then, because of Domain placement and Number ranking, that is where you see the differences. The differences come out of that person's desires in life. Those desires are Relationship Building, Influencing, Strategic Thinking, and Executing. Essentially, one of these domains will color every other strength in your 34, precisely your top 10.
Strengths can help clarify how you do things in all aspects of your life, but because you are here as an entrepreneur, you want to know how to improve your business. Even someone doing business alone must understand how to work with others as their team grows. That is the nature of the dōTERRA business model. A leader will pass down how they have done things to get to the rank they want, then allow their frontline the freedom to take and leave what works for them. The best way to serve your frontline business builders (or any team you may be building) is to give them the tools to thrive how they desire. That's where learning and understanding your Gallup Strengths Report comes into play.
This business model is both Transactional and Relational. We work on our own so that we can work together. Digging into your strengths is part of the transactional. Collaborating is how we connect relationally. Most of us in this business thrive that way. That is how we move forward in some capacity through our strengths, through one of the four domains.
This is my challenge to you. Do you know what your strengths are? Do you know your dominant domain? Do you understand how that domain colors everything you do? Do you lean more toward the Transactional or the Relational side of work?
I want you to dig in! This work will help you understand why you love what you do or dread it all.
If you want to find a way to discover yourself, first and then take what you've learned and share it with others in your work life. Getting your strengths report is the first step!
Post below. Let's work on this together.
